Thorough pumice brushing

The process of pumice brushing optimizes the cutting edges in the production of punching dies and base plates. Pumice brushing thoroughly cleans the sheets, removes burrs and frees surfaces from oxide layers. The process improves the quality of the punching tools and thus their punching results, and it also ensures a longer service life of the tools in mass production. In pumice brushing, the material is specifically treated with pumice stone flour and water. The mixture used has a gently abrasive effect, i.e. abrasive, and removes and smoothes the burr at the cut edges evenly. Pumice brushing systems from TSK delivers excellent results reliably and permanently.

    Basis for clean sheet metal stamping

    Pumice brushing becomes necessary when punching plates have been sharpened and the tools often have sharp edges and small burrs as a result. Our machines for pumice brushing precisely smooth the edges again and reliably remove annoying burrs. This creates an exact structure again, which is particularly important for the further production steps so that no defects form. The pumice brushing process relies on a mixture of pumice stone powder and water, which is applied via spray bars. This solution is evenly distributed on the surface and optimally supports the brushing process. 

    Sand with water and pumice flour 

    During the subsequent brushing process, the bristle brushes rotate specifically over the sheets. Two pairs of brushes work both sides of the sheet metal carefully and effectively. The pumice powder in the water mixture gently sands the surfaces, removes oxide layers and at the same time protects the structure of the sheets. This is important to maintain an even edge height and avoid deformation. A submersible pump ensures that the mixture is applied continuously through the spray bars and that the brushing process is even. 

    Ensuring high operating times

    The carefully controlled process results in smooth and oxide-free sheets with optimal edges. The retreaded surfaces provide an ideal basis for subsequent work steps and ensure a long operating time of the tools. Pumice brushing thus extends the service life of the punching dies, which is an important advantage in series production.

    For TSK, the state of the art is always only the basis and starting point for making further technological advances and refining technologies. In doing so, we always keep in mind that our systems are easy to maintain and robust in order to reliably maintain production. Resource conservation and environmental friendliness, wastewater-saving circuits, emissions into the air and noise emissions are just as important to us as the production quality for which the machines were designed.
